Change your fonts in Safari
Note: If you only want to change the font size temporarily, see the How to make text larger in Safari guide.
Step 1: Open the "Appearance" window
Click on "Edit" in the menu bar and then "Preferences" from the drop-down menu, as shown in fig. 1, or press Ctrl+", " (comma).
This will open the window shown in fig. 2. If "Appearance" is not already selected, click on the "Appearance" icon, or press Shift+Tab to highlight any of the icons and then press the right or left arrow keys until "Appearance" is highlighted and then press the Spacebar.
Step 2: Choose the fonts for all web pages you visit
Click on the "Select" button to the right of the "Standard font" box (in the example in fig. 2, it says "Arial 14"), or press Tab until the "Select" button is highlighted and then press the Spacebar. This will open the "Choose a Font" window, as shown in fig. 3.
Scroll through the list of fonts below the "Family" header with the mouse and click on the font you want. Alternatively, press Tab (if necessary) until any font name is highlighted and then use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through the list until the font you want is highlighted.
Click on the text size you want from the list below the "Size" header. Alternatively, press Tab until the box below the "Size" header is highlighted. Enter the text size you want, or press Tab again and then use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through the list until the size you want is highlighted.
When you are happy with your choices, click on the close cross or press Esc to close the "Choose a Font" window. Click on the close cross or press Esc to close the "Appearance" window and return to Safari.
Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings cannot be changed due to local IT policies--contact your local IT support for further help.
